Mission Statement
Our mission is to bring awareness to the mental health crisis in science and academia by normalizing conversations about mental health, to create community where people can come together to talk, listen, and learn, and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health by providing support, resources, and opportunities to connect with others.

Key Initiatives and Events
Annual Symposium
Our annual summit began 2022 and featured a faculty panel diving into how mental health has impacted their journeys in science from grad school to their current roles as a PI. We, the MHC team, thank our panelists from 2022 for their vulnerability and honesty and we hope that this inspires to destigmatize mental health in academia. We also hosted a Dragonfly Mental Health workshop that served as a primer to mental health. Student engagement included the start of the MHC Photo Project to collect photos of our community living their lives and highlighting the things that bring us joy! The following year, we grew our summit to include scientific talks from UCSF faculty and trainees. Thank you to all our speakers and panelists and we look forward to seeing you again at our upcoming annual summit.
