Building upon cross-institutional Preprint Clubs
This rise of preprints offers the opportunity to explore new ways to conduct peer review, but it also creates a challenge: how do scientists, especially trainees who are still developing their critical eye, evaluate work that has not yet been curated by editors or reviewers?
As Postdoctoral Ambassadors for ImmunoX, Pailin Chiaranunt and Amy Fan were inspired by current preprint club models aiming to address this exact question. After extensive discussion with trainees and faculty alike to gauge community interest, they launched a pilot Preprint Journal Club (JC) series during the 2025–26 academic year.
